Sydney, 2022-09-09 14:05:12. “Blonde” receives a 14-minute warm welcome in Venice
Ana de Armas became emotional at the premiere of Marilyn Monroe’s “Blonde” at the Venice Film Festival.
The film got a standing ovation for 14 minutes on Thursday, as de Armas was seen wiping tears from her face and hugging her actor, Adrien Brody.
The actress plays Monroe in the film based on Joyce Carol Oates’ novel of the same name. Brody plays her third husband, Arthur Miller.
Prodi had earlier praised her performance at the film’s press conference, saying that de Armas was able to transport it “to another time and place.”
De Armas told Britain’s Sunday Times that the role required a lot of preparation.
It took nine months of dialect training, practice and some extra dialogue replacement sessions [to perfect the accent]. It was a great torture, very exhausting. “My brain was fried,” she told the outlet.
Brad Pitt, the film’s producer, also appeared at the premiere.
Blonde will premiere on Netflix on September 28.
