The comedian announced on Twitter that Jimmy Kimmel, host of “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” , has tested positive for COVID-19 and will hand the reins of his late-night show to guest host Mike Berpiglia starting Tuesday.
“Bring our daughter Covid (although we specifically asked her not to),” Kimmel wrote.
Kimmel said he and his family are “fine” and “loved and nurtured”.
COVID-19 cases in Los Angeles County, where Jimmy Kimmel lives! It has been recorded, and her feeding of the BA2 variant has increased, but hospitalizations attributed to the virus remain stable.
Berpiglia, a stand-up comedian, will replace Kimmel, welcoming guests Tom Cruise and fellow comedian Iliza Shlesinger.
“I must be the first person to get off a Southwest Airlines plane and find out they’re hosting a late-night talk show,” Berpiglia said sarcastically. “Send love to Kimmels.”
