  • Successful pre-drying

Prepare your hair for brushing

The brushing begins in the shower. Indeed, hair in full health will be easier to comb. Once your hair has been washed with a shampoo suitable for your hair type, apply a mask to deeply nourish your hair. Well hydrated hair will disentangle more easily. When rinsing off your mask, use a jet of lukewarm water (cold for the brave) on your lengths to tighten the scales and make your hair brighter.

To optimize the duration of your brushing, then gently wring your hair without rubbing it and distribute using a comb, a anti-frizz serum or a thermo-protective treatment all over your hair. If you naturally lack volume, you can also apply a texturizing water in the roots.

Choose a suitable brush

The round brush is the essential accessory for successful brushing. But beware, not all brushes are created equal. Choose your brush carefully according to your hair.

If you have the thick hair, go for a ceramic brush. Ceramic has the advantage of retaining heat well and therefore more easily taming rebellious hair. The finer hair will prefer wild boar hair that gently disentangle and make fragile hair shine.

Concerning diameter of your brush, this will depend on the length of your hair or the expected result:

  • Large brushes comb long hair more easily and straighten thick hair better
  • Medium brushes are suitable for all types of hair but above all allow to take off the roots and obtain a very flexible texture
  • Small brushes are ideal for getting curls and adding volume

Pre-drying: the essential step

It is better to avoid brushing dry hair because it weakens it. It is therefore advised to blow dry after washing her hair, however, and above all, making sure to pre-dry them in order to be able to work them more easily afterwards and to make your brushing hold longer.

If you have the time, prefer a natural pre-drying. Otherwise, pre-dry your hair using a hair dryer at medium temperature. Hold your hair dryer at a distance of about 10-15cm so as not to damage the hair. If you have thin hair that lacks volume, pre-dry your hair upside down to take off the roots.

Be careful, if your hair is frizzy, curly or with a lot of natural volume, do not go through the pre-drying stage but completely dry your hair directly.

Proceed in small groups of wicks

Then proceed to brushing by small strands. Start by drying the hair from below, tying up the rest. Finish with the strands above. Drying the hair in fine strands will be a little more time-consuming, but that’s the secret to making your brushing last longer. The slightest hint ofremaining moisture would tend to create frizz. So go through each strand several times with your hair dryer.

The trick to making your brushing last long is toalternate hot and cold when you dry a wick. Indeed, the hot air softens and dries the hair while the cold air tightens the scales and fixes the hairstyle.

Treat and fix the brushing

Once the hair is completely dry and the brushing is in place, apply one to two drops of oil to nourish your tips that could have been attacked by the heat.

Do not hesitate to deposit in finishing, a lacquer veil for optimal hold of your brushing.

How often can we blow-dry?

To avoid weakening your hair, do not overdo brushings. Limit yourself to a brushing every two or three days, no more, so as not to attack your hair.

Between each brushing, do not hesitate to deeply care for your hair using appropriate care.
