Evangeline Lilly attends anti-vaccine mandate rally

New York, 2022-01-27 20:29:27. Evangeline Lilly attends anti-vaccine mandate rally

Evangeline Lilly said she attended a rally against vaccine mandates in Washington, D.C., last weekend — the same event that Robert F. Kennedy Jr. called out Nazi Germany and Anne Frank in a speech.

The “Ant-Man and the Wasp” star said, in one of her Instagram posts, that she attended the rally in order to “support bodily sovereignty” and that she believes that “no one should ever be forced to inject anything into their body, against their will, under threat… He listed several statements, including job loss and violent assault.

“I was a pro-choice before COVID and I’m still a pro-choice today,” she said, adding hashtags including “#medicalfreedom,” “#bodilyautonomy” and “#defeatthemandatesdc.”

Lily did not refer to Kennedy’s comments in her post. During the event, Kennedy, a longtime vaccine opponent, compared requirements for a COVID-19 vaccine in the United States to conditions in Nazi Germany, and said people living under Nazi rule “could hide in the attic, like Anne Frank did.” (Kennedy later apologized for mentioning Frank’s name, and his wife, actress Cheryl Hines, denounced the remarks.)

Lilly’s comments about COVID-19 have offended fans before. In March 2020, Lily apologized for an Instagram post about taking her children to camp as the pandemic began in North America and for comments she made about “how some people value their lives over freedom, and some value their lives.”

Lily said at the time, “Although [her] So fearful of the social, economic and political ramifications of this course of action, please know I’m doing a part of me to flatten the curve, practice social distancing and stay home with my family.”

CNN has contacted representatives for Lilly for comment.
