Ex-Britney Spears ordered to stand trial for stalking

Britney Spears says she's going to create a 'gap in social media'

L.A, 2022-06-27 18:34:08. Ex-Britney Spears ordered to stand trial for stalking

Ventura, California –

A California judge on Monday found there was enough evidence against a man who briefly married Britney Spears, who appeared uninvited to the pop star’s wedding to stand trial for criminal stalking.

Court records showed, after a two-hour initial hearing, Ventura County Judge David Worley ruled that 40-year-old Jason Allen Alexander should be tried to answer the charge, along with charges of trespassing, vandalism and battery.

Pleadings of not guilty to all charges were filed by Alexander’s lawyer, who did not attend and is still imprisoned.

Spears married longtime boyfriend Sam Asgari at her home in Thousand Oaks, California, on June 9, in front of dozens of guests including Selena Gomez, Drew Barrymore, Paris Hilton, and Madonna.

Alexander, a childhood friend of Spears whom she was married to for less than three days in 2004, appeared uninvited at the house before the ceremony, broadcasting his raids on Instagram.

Richard Opler, Spears’ security guard who has since been fired, testified at Monday’s hearing that Alexander entered her home and climbed into the locked Spears bedroom door while inside, according to multiple media reports.

Ebler said Alexander also tried to enter the property in the days leading up to the wedding.

Alexander’s attorney, Sandra Bisignani, said there was no evidence that he intended to harm Spears.
