How to apply cosmetics correctly for maximum efficiency
Very regularly, many cosmetic innovations appear on the market. Always more targeted and efficient, these advanced formulas can be ineffective if misused or poorly applied. DESSANGE takes stock of these different treatments and the best way to apply them to obtain real results.
The serum is a cosmetic treatment very concentrated in active ingredients. There are two ways to apply its serum: by mixing a few drops of it with your moisturizer, or by applying your serum directly to your perfectly cleansed skin. The fluid texture of the serum is ultra fine and light and is therefore specially developed to penetrate the skin deeply and thus act at different levels according to needs: hydration, firmness, wrinkles, skin texture, radiance… There are many different serums depending on the needs and nature of your skin.
As mentioned above, its texture is ideal since it does not stick and does not leave a greasy film on the skin. On the other hand, it does not provide all the desired comfort. This is why its application must be completed with a day cream to maintain complete hydration. You can use your serum in the morning before applying your moisturizer and / or in the evening after your makeup removal and before applying your night cream. Nothing prevents you from combining several serums at the same time if your skin has several problems.
For example: an eye contour serum can easily be combined with a serum treating the radiance of the complexion.
After your serum and before your moisturizing day cream, remember to apply your eye cream. This area is the most fragile of the face because the skin is very thin and sensitive. It is therefore necessary to ensure that the care applied to this area is planned and tested for this purpose. Different specific treatments exist, again to be defined according to your needs: dark circles, bags, wrinkles.
The eye contour treatment is applied by light tapping, from the inside to the outside of the eye. Repeat this gesture under the browbones in exactly the same way, without forgetting to treat the crow’s feet area (fine lines in the outer corner of the eye). Finally, finish by smoothing the skin with your index fingers, above the eyebrows, from the base, stretching towards the temples.
After you cleanse your skin, it becomes more vulnerable to dryness. If your skin is left unprotected, it may develop sores or red patches. This is why, regardless of age, it is essential to moisturize your skin daily in order to protect it from external aggressions and prevent it from premature skin aging. The application of a day cream does not only concern the face but also the neck, décolleté and back of the hands, which are the most exposed areas.
There are also many different moisturizers here, to meet everyone’s needs: oily skin, sensitive skin, problem skin, mature skin… You will inevitably find the one suitable for your skin!
The face mask
There are many types of face masks. If it is hydrating or nourishing, your mask can be applied as much as you want, as soon as the skin feels tight and calls for deep hydration. On the other hand, if its function is to fight against imperfections, to regulate the production of sebum … then it is advisable to limit its use to once a week and away from sun exposure so as not to “attack” and dry out too much. the skin. In any case, the masks should always be applied to perfectly clean skin and act for about 10/20 minutes to ensure maximum effect.
To keep skin soft and fresh as long as possible and protect your skin from the harmful effects of the sun, it is advisable to use sun protection before each exposure. Contrary to what one might think, sun protection is used on top of all other treatments and must be renewed every 2 hours to be fully effective in the event of prolonged sun exposure. On the face, choose an index 30 with a light texture for daily use. If you know you’re going to be spending time in the sun, choose a factor 50 sunscreen instead. As for the application, pat the sunscreen on (rather than “rubbing” it, you will avoid irritating your skin). over the entire area to be protected. Allow 3 to 5 minutes for your skin to fully absorb the sunscreen before starting to apply makeup.
Tip: If you use makeup on your complexion, prefer a liquid or cream foundation to a powder foundation. A liquid or cream product will blend more naturally into the texture of the sunscreen and avoid the plaster effect.
