L.A, 2022-07-01 12:14:53. Kate Bush song breaks three world records
If you haven’t already, Kate Bush might want to send you a basket of cakes on Netflix.
The singer broke three world records, according to Guinness World Records, thanks to the appearance of her 1985 song “Running Up That Hill” on the final season of the series Stranger Things.
Bush now holds the records for the longest time reaching #1 on the UK’s official singles chart; oldest female artist to reach #1 on the UK’s official singles chart; and the longest gap between the No. 1 positions on the official UK Singles Chart.
Previous record holder Cher, who was 52 when “Believe” hit the top spot in 1998, took to Twitter to congratulate Bush.
Cher tweeted, “Bravo Kate, records mean 2 to break!! Remember back in the day, when the women’s sale was short lived!?”. “We had 2 fight our way through the testosterone curtain, and we did it so the girls who came after us could sing as much as they wanted. With great respect.”
Bush recently posted on her website to thank Netflix and appreciate “Stranger Things.”
“Features the song ‘Running Up That Hill’ which young fans who love the show are giving a whole new lease on life – love it too!” she wrote. “It’s all really exciting!”
