Keanu Reeves has revealed why he turned down the 1997 movie ‘Speed 2: Speed Control’.
Reeves starred with Sandra Bullock in the 1994 movie “Speed,” about a bus that would explode if it sank below 50 mph (80 km).
The actor appeared on The Graham Norton Show, where he said, “At the time I didn’t respond to the script. I really wanted to work with Sandra Bullock, I loved playing Jack Traven, and I loved ‘Speed,’ but ocean liner? I had nothing against. participating artists, but at the time I felt like it wasn’t right.”
Jack Whitehall, who was also a guest on the show, asked Reeves why he refused.
However, Reeves will be in “The Matrix Resurrections,” reprising his role as Neo, who lives again after his death 18 years ago.
“I hope people will enjoy it – it’s very exciting, and making it was an extraordinary experience,” he said of the new film.
About the character, Reeves told Norton, “I had the same question — when the director asked me what I thought of doing another ‘Matrix’ movie, I said ‘What?’ That sounds cool but I’m dead.” She was like, “Are you?” and I said, “Say!” I wrote a beautiful story, and I love playing the character. And it will be explained how I am alive.”
“The Matrix Resurrections” will be released in theaters and on HBO Max on December 22.
