Paris, 2022-08-11 16:05:14. Police said Ann Heck’s crash is now being investigated as a felony
Actress Anne Heck is now under investigation for a DUI crime after her car crashed into a Los Angeles-area home that caught fire last week, according to police.
Los Angeles Police Officer Jeff Lee told CNN that the initial investigation was for a misdemeanor DUI, but the results from Heche’s blood draw and word of a person being hit inside the home raised the matter to a felony.
“She showed signs of weakness in her blood, which is why she is now being investigated as a felony traffic collision,” she told me.
She told me that a woman who was inside the house at the time of the accident sustained minor injuries but sought medical attention.
“The results of the blood draw showed the presence of narcotics, but additional tests are needed to rule out any substances that were ingested in the hospital,” Officer Annie Hernandez explained.
Heche remains in the hospital in a critical condition, according to the actress’ representative.
“She has a major lung injury that requires mechanical ventilation and burns that require surgical intervention. She is currently being treated at the Grossman Burn Center,” a Heche spokesperson told CNN in a statement Monday.
Its representatives have not yet commented on the results of the blood draw.
