New York, 2022-08-11 18:17:35. Steve Martin doesn’t want to retire, but he may slow down after Only Murders in the Building ends

Steve Martin is experiencing a new wave of popularity thanks to the Hulu series “Killing in the Building Only.” But the 76-year-old says he’s ready to stop when the show finally comes to an end.

Martin told The Hollywood Reporter that he would be willing to slow down somewhat once the Emmy-nominated comedy is over. But for a guy who’s been working almost his entire adult life, that’s easier said than done.

“When this TV show ends, I won’t be looking for others,” the comedian said. “I’m not going to look for other movies. I don’t want to do cameos. That, weirdly, is.”

Even before his latest series aired in 2021, Martin has been busy: Since 2015, he’s been on regular tours with Short, and his play “Meteor Shower” premiered briefly on Broadway in 2017. And in 2013, he had a child — his first — at age 67. .

However, he’s not quite ready to quit altogether: Martin said he’s “not really interested in retiring…but he (he) would work a little less. Maybe.”

It remains to be seen if he will ever leave our screens for good, but Martin has more projects, including Season Three of “Just Kill” and a new memoir due out later this year. And he said he’d keep hanging out with Short, until he stops being so interesting, if that happens.
