Will Smith: Chris Rock's brother says the Oscar slap 'eats' on him

L.A, 2022-04-05 10:39:00. Will Smith: Chris Rock’s brother says the Oscar slap ‘eats’ on him

Chris Rock’s brother would like to see Will Smith stripped of his Best Actor Oscar.

In an interview with the Los Angeles Times, Kenny Rock discussed his feelings about his brother being slapped by Will Smith at the Oscars.

“It eats me up watching it over and over because you’ve seen your loved one get attacked and there’s nothing you can do about it,” Kenny Rock told The Times. “Every time I watch the videos, it’s like a rendition that keeps thinking in my head over and over again.”

He added, “My brother was not a threat to him and you did not respect him at that moment.” “I underestimated him in front of the millions of people watching the show.”

Smith hit Chris Rock after Rock joked about his wife Jada Pinkett Smith’s hairstyle.

Pinkett Smith suffers from hair loss due to alopecia.

Kenny Rock said his brother did not know about her medical condition and told The Times he would like to see the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences take back the Best Actor Oscar-winning Smith Oscar-winning that night for his performance in “King Richard”.

Days after the Oscars, the Academy announced that it had “initiated disciplinary proceedings” against Smith.

Smith later resigned from the academy.

David Rubin, president of the Academy, said in a statement that the group “will continue to proceed with our disciplinary action against Mr. Smith for violating the Academy’s standards of conduct, prior to the next Board meeting scheduled for April 18.”

One of Rock’s brothers, comedian Tony Rock, also spoke of his brother’s support.

Chris Rock said during a comedy show days after the incident that he is still “processing” what happened and plans to talk about it later.
