Winona Judd has addressed speculation that she and her sister Ashley Judd are fighting a battle over the will of their late mother, Naomi Judd.

Queen Judd died by suicide in April at the age of 76, and Winona Judd told People magazine she was at Ashley’s house when someone told her the two sisters were said to be fighting.

Winona Judd told the publication, “Fighting for what? I have a wonderful life. Ashley has a wonderful life. Why do we fight over a will?”

According to the singer, who with her mother performed the role of country duo The Judds, it is Larry Strickland, her 33-year-old stepfather, who is responsible for her mother’s estate.

She said she had no plans to challenge the will and that she and her sister were planning to “divide” the estate after Strickland’s death.

“I’m the last person in this family – and if Ashley is here, I hope you’ll agree with me – who knows things like this,” Judd said. “I’m not expert enough to go,” I’ll go against will. “It didn’t occur to me.”
